Based on the agreement at the Trilateral Cultural Ministers’ meeting, the Agency for Cultural Affairs will hold the Trilateral Arts Festival introducing each country’s great traditions as well as contemporary culture and art, as a joint project of the 3 countries: Japan, China and Korea.
Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa invited from Ishikawa Prefecture will hold a concert together with vocalists representing each of the 3 countries: Japan, China and Korea.

Established by Ishikawa Prefecture and Kanazawa City in 1988 as Japan’s first professional chamber orchestra with 40 members including many foreigners. Hiroyuki Iwaki served its first music director. Its base is Ishikawa Ongakudo adjacent to Kanazawa Station. Performing about 100 times a year, including regular performances and overseas performances. The composer in residence system (currently composer of the year system) has been adopted since its establishment. Also actively working on training and promotion activities, such as training junior performers and collaboration with Japanese music. More than 90 CDs have been released by major labels. Michiyoshi Inoue served as music director from 2007 to march 2018. Marc Minkowski has been serving as artistic director since September 2018, and Junichi Hirokami as artistic leader since September 2022.
TSUNODA Kosuke completed a master’s degree in conducting at Tokyo University of the Arts and a Staatsexamen in conducting at Berlin University of the Arts. He has collaborated with major orchestras in Japan and abroad, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and New Japan Philharmonic. He served as conductor of the Osaka Philharmonic from 2016 to 2020 and of the Sendai Philharmonic from 2018 to 2022, and he is considered one of Japan’s most promising young conductors. Starting in April 2024, he will assume the position of music director for the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra.
Soprano Jung Hee Kyung won the Busan Music Association Competition and won a number of competitions, including the Hamburg Opereta International Vocal Music Competition in Germany. She played leading roles in operas such as La Boheme, Regoleto, Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, and La Traviata, and worked as a member of the Düsseldorf Musikverein in Germany and as a soprano soloist at the Opernloft Theater in Hamburg. She graduated from Chung-Ang University in Korea and the Cologne National University of Music in Germany.
Tenor Kim Eunkuk debuted at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Berlin Philharmonie as De Grieu in Puccini's opera Manon Lesko. He was a soloist at the Mannheim National Theatre and appeared as a soloist at the Reinfalz Theatre and the Flensburg Theatre. He studied voice at the Seoul National University and the Mannheim University of Music.
A soprano singer with the China National Opera House, a National First-Class Actress, and a recipient of a special government allowance from the State Council. She has received the "Wenhua Award," a prestigious Chinese government award for culture and arts, and the “Sigeyipi” Talent Award from the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Ruan has performed in many Chinese and international operas, including Il Trovatore, Turandot, La Traviata, Carmen, and Chinese operas such as Farewell My Concubine, The Death of a Poet, Destiny, and the Manas. She has also participated in significant national cultural events, such as the 2017 Hong Kong Return to the Motherland 20th Anniversary Celebration, the 2019 Macau Return to the Motherland 20th Anniversary Celebration, and the 2021 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China Commemorative Performance; “The Great Expedition”.
A soprano singer with the China National Opera House, a National First-Class Actress, and a recipient of a special government allowance from the State Council. He is also a reviewer for the National Arts Fund. He has performed in numerous operas both in China and internationally, including "The Tales of Hoffmann," "Turandot," “Cavalleria Rusticana,” "Carmen," "Madama Butterfly," "Farewell My Concubine," "The Orphan of Zhao," “Manas,” and "Road." He has participated in several national cultural performances, such as the 2017 BRICS Summit Special Music Concert in Xiamen, the 2018 Special Music Concert for the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up, and the 2019 Special Cultural Performance for the 70th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
TAKEDA Michiko studied at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts and Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. She won 1st prize in the vocal division of the Japan Music Competition, sponsored by NHK and the Mainichi Newspapers, and received the Audience Award and the E. Nakamichi Award. She also won 1st prize in the Orvieto International Vocal Competition. With her powerful lirico spinto voice, she has performed lead roles such as Tosca in Tosca and Elisabeth in Tannhäuser. In 2024, she achieved success in the role of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Italy, which belongs to the Serie A theaters. She is a member of the Nikikai Opera Foundation.
JO Hironori studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and the New National Theatre Opera Studio. He won 1st prize in the vocal division of the Japan Music Competition, sponsored by NHK and the Mainichi Newspapers, and received the Audience Award. With his lirico spinto voice and acting ability that precisely embodies the drama, he is active primarily in opera. He made his debut as Manrico in Il Trovatore under the baton of Battistoni. At the Tokyo Spring Festival, he performed as Malcolm in Macbeth conducted by Muti, and this July in Tokyo, he performed as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. He is a member of the Nikikai Opera Foundation.
